How do I record an ASMR video?

Who has considered to record an ASMR video itself, which was certainly first before the question "What do I need everything to be able to record an ASMR video?"

If you take a look at the well-known ASMRtist on YouTube here, you will find that quite a few filmed with the old camera or cell phone and often only used the headset as a microphone. Who has ensured very good lighting and absolute silence, which could actually record very good ASMR videos.

Even today, such older-looking videos are very popular and you can often find them under the name "Lofi", because the sound quality is not the best. But even the background noise with the worse mics, can provide relaxation for one or the other listener. Of course, one's own taste always plays a very big role, because not everyone relaxes equally well with the different sounds.

I personally love and prefer ASMR videos with an excellent sound, which gives me the impression that the sounds are truly happening right next to my head at my ears. This creates the feeling that someone is actually whispering in my right ear or in my left ear. For me, this is very relaxing.

Also, since a lot of people listen to the ASMR videos rather than watch them carefully, the picture quality can take a back seat, at least at first, until you get used to recording and editing the videos. Good equipment just isn't that cheap either, and of course you can't always afford the best right away.

So it's not that easy and needs some experience. However, it is important that you simply get to grips with it and see how it works out. The competition has become huge in recent years and therefore more and more fancy and elaborate ASMR videos are produced.

If you are new, you have to stand out with something unique.

It's easier for the ASMRtists who have been around for years. For example, if you look at Maria's (Gentle Whispering) videos, it's easy to see that she, at least, still doesn't upload videos to YouTube in 4K. She's already so well known and has built up a great community that she doesn't necessarily have to. And the videos, after all, still have incredibly good quality in terms of picture and sound.

Some ASMR-YouTubers also show the film and studio corners and the initial equipment they use for their recordings and give many useful tips.

But the most important ingredient remains: have fun and be relaxed!
